It has been a huge year for 6-1 guard and four-star senior Anthony Brown. He began his junior campaign with a phenomenal season in one of America’s best high school leagues.
Brown took his talents to Archbishop Carroll in Washington, D.C., and didn’t disappoint. He notched an astounding 25 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds a game.
He made it really clear that he belongs within the Top 100 of his class and has only continued to make leaps, which he has also demonstrated on the EYBL circuit.
This Spring, Brown averaged 18 points, five assists, and nearly four rebounds while helping lead an always-talented Team Durant squad, which was one of the eight finalists at Nike Peach Jam.
Considered one of the summer’s breakout players, Brown’s recruitment began to heat up, and now, with the fall approaching, things are getting real intense for the four-star point guard.
Brown discussed that very recruitment with Stockrisers.com and went in-depth on some of the programs in the mix, including Vanderbilt, where he’s currently participating in an official visit.
Have any new programs tried to get involved?
”There have been a few schools from the ACC and others that have reached out about me possibly opening my recruitment back up.”
Thoughts on Maryland?
”I like Maryland a lot, and it’s home. I love the passion from Coach Buzz [Williams] about me possibly being in his first recruiting class.”
Indiana?
”I like Indiana and their large fan base. Their coaches allow their players to develop and grow within the year. They have a rich and historic basketball history.”
Oklahoma State?
”I like their coaching staff a lot. They have been one of the schools recruiting me the longest and have been really engaged in my recruitment.”
Vanderbilt?
”I love everything they're building in Nashville. The energy from the coaches. I love their style of play for me.”
How would you break down your game in a scouting report?
”I’m a high-IQ scoring point guard. I love to get my teammates involved and keep them active within the game. I love a challenge, and I feel when the lights are bright that I’m comfortable in those environments. I just want to win and help my team win in any way possible within the lines.”
