Penny Hardaway is on an absolute tear and continues his recruiting success with the commitment of four-star senior Sam Ayomide who has committed to Memphis, he told Stockrisers.com. Ayomide joins Jordan Nesbitt, Josh Minott, and John Camden.

Ayomide, a 6-foot-10 center, moved to the United States and began to play organized basketball when he was 14. Now, he becomes an absolute monster in the paint and is a very talented big man whose upside is major and now that he can develop under Penny Hardaway’s direction, that upside continues to grow.

“I built a very good relationship with the coaching staff,” Ayomide said.

Ayomide will join his best friend and brother, John Camden who announced his pledge to the Tigers two weeks ago. The two live together and now will play and compete at the college level together.

“Man, that duo is unstoppable.”

In addition, he discussed his relationship with Penny Hardaway saying that the conversations between the two vary from basketball to off-the-court stuff. He’s super excited to play for Hardaway and the staff which Ayomide says played a big factor in his choice to commit to Memphis.

Finally, Ayomide said he’s really happy to be able to join such a polished and talented recruiting class, saying that it’s going to be very scary how talented the 2021 class for Memphis is.
