It’s going to be a long race for Fishers (Indiana) star guard and 6-1 recruit Jason Gardner Jr.

Where things stand today, about 25 programs are involved with the consensus Top-35 recruit, who has been one of the biggest breakout recruits of the year so far.

Recently, Gardner Jr. told Stockrisers.com that he took a handful of visits. The visit spree includes unofficial capacities at Florida, Ohio State, Purdue, Kentucky, and Notre Dame.

He discussed each of these visits and added that he will take an unofficial visit to Cincinnati on November 15th.

Thoughts on the Ohio State visit?

It went really well. It was my second time up there; this time, I was able to watch a football game, which was a really cool experience. I have a really good connection with Diebler and Walsh, and they always tell me how super dynamic I am and how I’m someone they would love to build around.”

The Kentucky visit?

They were showing me how they would use me in their system and how I would play similarly to their guards in the past, and how they see I could fit really well with them.”

The Purdue visit?

They’ve been recruiting me since my freshman year. Coach Painter is always talking about how he’s developed players who started here and helped make them who they are, guys such as Braden Smith, Zach Edey, Jaden Ivey, and Carsen Edwards. He thinks that with the system they play in, I could flourish.”

The Florida visit?

The campus was really cool. They were just telling me how they’re really strategic on how they recruit, and they go after certain players that they think fit the culture and system, and think I’m one of those few people. I’m a huge priority for them, and they like how I play in terms of playing hard and playing with a fast pace.

The Notre Dame visit?

I have a really good relationship with the staff, especially Coach Shrewsberry and Coach Owens. Again, they are telling me how big a priority I am for them, and they think I have a special talent, and how they’re trying to turn the program around to where it was a few years ago, and think I’m capable of doing that.”

Who else is heavily involved?

Iowa, Indiana, Texas Tech, North Carolina, Auburn, Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Purdue, Iowa, Florida.”

Any newer schools?

“Gonzaga, Stanford, Minnesota, and Oregon.”

Any other visits?

Cincinnati on November 15th.”
