The upside is through the roof when it comes to five-star junior Gabe Nesmith.

The 6-foot-6 small forward, rated amongst the Top-20 juniors in the nation, has made strides athletically over the last few months and drew a lot of attention as a standout this summer with Vegas Elite.

With Vegas Elite, he had multiple 20-point outings and has gained a lot of buzz entering his new venture with Overtime Elite.

At just 16 years old, Nesmith has impressive physical attributes and is an elite offensive wing talent. His ball-handling is very fluid, and he plays with tons of energy, having continued to improve all facets of his game, including his three-point shot.

He’s wiry and tenacious, but I think his length and ability to affect the game in so many different ways has put him in the conversation amongst some of the best in his position nationally.

Nesmith took the time this weekend to discuss suitors in his recruitment and some tidbits on his game with Stockrisers.com

Which schools are heavily involved?

”Right now I would say Vanderbilt, Auburn, Washington, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Rutgers.”

Any new schools?

”Florida State and Oklahoma are new.”

Auburn?

“I like the school and the coaching staff a lot. I think they’d be a pretty good fit for me.”

Has Vandy’s rise this season stood out?

”Yes, but I expected it after going on a visit and talking to the coach.”

Tennessee?

”They have been telling me that if I go there and put in the work that I will defintely be a pro.”

Washington?

”They have been very personable with me and my family, so I feel like it’s very fluid with them.”

Rutgers?

”They think if I go there, I could be like Ace [Bailey] and have a big freshman year. I like the coaching staff a lot also, very cool [staff].”

How has your game improved at OTE?

”I think before I got hurt earlier in the season that I was getting better at catch and shooting and also just being a better defender. Also being able to share the ball while also getting mine.”
