Plainfield (New Jersey) point guard Micah Gordon is one of the top bucket-getters in the entire 2027 class. The Top-50 guard had a successful sophomore campaign, and it translated to the EYBL circuit this past summer.

His Plainfield squad was one of the best teams in all of New Jersey, and Gordon, even as a sophomore, was a core member and a valuable part of that squad.

Gordon averaged 17 points, five boards, and five assists. Plainfield won the Group 4 State Title in Jersey and could be primed for another big year with Gordon entering his junior year.

The success continued with the PSA Cardinals this summer. In the final session, he averaged 17 points, which is identical to his sophomore totals, and shot an impressive 51% from the field.

He was also featured in the NBA Top 100 camp, where he stood out among the standouts and was a top performer at the Pangos All-American event this past June.

Gordon tells Stockrisers.com that he’s locked in an official visit to Marquette for this November. He discussed his recruitment with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are heavily involved?

”Schools heavily involved right now are West Virginia, VCU, Marquette, Oklahoma State, Providence, Notre Dame, and Seton Hall.”

Any new schools?

”Providence recently showed up.”

Thoughts on West Virginia?

”I like West Virginia a lot. The intensity of the fans, the way their coach broke down the way I would fit in the system.”

How about VCU?

”VCU is pretty much the same thing. They will let me go; they play fast, and I want to play in transition and make plays early in the game. They tell me how much I fit in the system as well.”

Providence?

”I’m just now starting to see film of them, but they play really fast and get up and down the floor with fast transitions. Easy to get downhill on defenders.”

Marquette?

”With Marquette, they showed me a lot of ball screens and a lot of paint touches and transition buckets. A lot of wide-open threes. Defensively, everyone is up guarding their man and on the help side.”

Any visits coming up?

”Taking an official visit to Marquette in November.”

How would you best describe your game?

”I would definitely say I’m a pass-first point guard. I always look to get my teammates involved first before I get myself going. I know how hard it is not to touch the ball and then to get a wide-open shot in a few possessions, so I try to get everyone touches and keep everyone's hands hot. I believe I’m a great leader and communicator with my team.”
