Five-star junior Kevin Savage updates his recruitment, possible visits

The state of Georgia has had some talented point guards on its home turf over the last few years, and has another one breaking out this year, asserting himself as one of the top in his class.
Kevin Savage is a 5-10 point guard out of Wheeler High School (Georgia), and he’s considered a five-star prospect and is sitting comfortably in that spot as he continues to impress and draw attention.
Recently invited to Team USA’s Fall minicamp, it’s just one of the many accolades that Savage has earned this summer. At Adidas 3SSB this summer, he was named a standout and was one of the top-performing guards at the event.
He averaged over 14.5 points per game along with 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. At Session II, Savage was named the Underclassmen MVP.
At the NBA Top-100 camp, he was also a standout, which is no slouch at that event. Savage averaged 15 points per game and was one of the top guards overall at the event.
His recruitment is recently ramping up; coaches such as Wes Miller, Matt Painter, Nate Oats, and Jai Lucas have been among those who have watched Savage so far during the newest recruiting period.
Savage sat down with Stockrisers.com and gave an in-depth breakdown on his recruitment.
Which schools are heavily involved?
”Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Purdue, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech.”
Who are the newest schools to show interest?
”Schools like Oregon, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt. Haven’t offered yet, just interested.”
What is Purdue pitching, and how is your relationship with Coach Painter?
”Coach Painter and I have a good relationship. They’re pitching how well he does with his point guards, like Braden Smith, and how I fit in perfectly in their system. Just a good community in general with a great fan base.”
Cincinnati?
”Coach Miller and I, and Coach Morgan, built a great relationship throughout the last few months. They love my style of play, and Coach Miller believes that I would fit perfectly in that system.”
Thoughts on Auburn?
”I’ve been around the Auburn staff since I was in 6th grade, so growing up and building a relationship with them has been great. Coach Pearl has had success with smaller guards from Georgia like Sharife Cooper and Jared Harper.”
Planning other visits?
”Right now, Purdue. Trying to work on Georgia, Ole Miss, and Auburn.
How would you best describe your game?
”A floor general that can score on all three levels.”
Savage mentioned where he wants to take visits. He already has scheduled an official visit with Cincinnati for October 3rd.
