Five-star senior Braylon Mullins discusses his recruitment, timeline
Things are heating up for one of the nation’s most highly sought recruits, Braylon Mullins.
The 6-foot-5 guard out of Greenfield-Central (IN.) had a terrific junior year, asserting himself as one of the top-rated players in the 2025 class.
Mullins averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 boards, and 3.2 steals per game. He asserted himself as not only a versatile prospect but a high-level scorer who improved defensively as well.
His success translated to the AAU circuit. Mullins was named to the Adidas 3SSB All-Circuit first team, helping lead his team to an undefeated record of 13-0. He averaged 19.5 points, 3.7 boards, and shot 50% from the field.
Making half your shots in a 13-game span while averaging nearly 20 points. Impressive.
Regarding his recruitment, things are ramping up for one of Indiana’s best prospects. He visited Indiana this past weekend and was in North Carolina last weekend.
Mullins discussed things with Stockrisers.com and gave an outstanding update on his recruitment.
Which schools remain heavily involved?
“North Carolina, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and UConn.”
Have any new schools tried to get involved here lately, or those are the main ones right now?
“Those are the main ones, and probably what I will keep around.”
How was your North Carolina visit, and what is Coach Davis pitching to you?
“It was good. I loved the campus and coaching staff. Coach Davis loves the way I fit into his offense. Also pitched that I can play and work for a starting spot as a freshman.”
Indiana, how was your visit? Can we discuss the possibility of staying at home?
“It was great, and I also enjoyed the visit. I got to hang with the players and coaches and built more of the relationships we already had. Coach Woodson pitched me, fitting into their new-styled offense. Knowing that the school is not far, it’s always an option.”
How about Kentucky, new staff, new culture, thoughts on them?
“Coach Pope's style of offense stands out to me. They shoot a lot of threes but also play the pick and roll. Built a good relationship with the staff. Also, the history of the program speaks for itself.”
Michigan, Coach May, I know they’ve been making a late push here. Do you have thoughts on Coach and his staff?
“Loved the campus, Coach May’s style of play, and the coaching staff. There is lots of movement within his offense that I could thrive on.”
UConn, what is the main pitch and your relationship with Coach Hurley?
“Coach Hurley is a great coach. Player development is what he has been talking to me about. He says I can be on campus for ten months and reach my ultimate goals. I also loved the campus and the coaching staff. I’ve built a good relationship with Coach Murray and Coach Hurley.”
And you’re done with visits, correct? Have any schools said they’d come in this week?
“I might still go to Kentucky on Oct 25. But I don’t know who will be in for this week.”
Whichever school you attend, what type of player are they getting, and what type of person are you like off the court?
“They are getting a respectful, hardworking player and person on and off the court. Give back to the community if I can.”
And how would you best break down your game?
“Everybody knows me as a shooter. But I would say I’m a very reliable defender who also is sneakily athletic. I’m also a very competitive player.”
How would you like to improve your game this season? What are some senior year goals?
“Want to get stronger is the primary goal. But some of my senior year goals are a 2,000-point scorer, Mr. Basketball. Indiana All-Star and McDonald’s All-American.”
You will narrow your list next week; what does the timeline for a decision look like?
“Commitment date is probably early November or end of October. Narrowing list this week.”
What are you looking for in a college?
“Relationships, Style of Play, Opportunity to Play, Education.”
