DeZhon Hall emerging as a top-prospect in 2026 class, talks recruitment
It’s no secret that Indiana basketball breeds talent. Every year we come across multiple prospects from the state that evolve and ultimately become some of the top prospects in the country. This time we found an early bloomer.
2026 prospect DeZhon Hall is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard who started his high school career last year at Tindlay in Indiana, where he became one of the team’s key players as a freshman. Hall averaged 18.8 points per game and his athletic ability was also on display all year.
This past summer, Hall was a crucial part of an Indy Heat 15U squad that was able to make it deep into Peach Jam. He averaged 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, and asserted himself as a terrific two-way prospect that is keyed in on both sides of the floor.
After a long summer, he recently announced that he would be leaving Tindlay and going to 4A powerhouse, Pike High School, where he will be coached by long-time NBA veteran and Indiana native Jeff Teague.
Hall’s recruitment is also starting to grow, and he will begin taking some unofficial visits. Those visits begin today as he will take an unofficial visit to Illinois, he told Stockrisers.com.
We discussed the Illini and some other suitors in his recruitment in a discussion with Stockrisers.com.
*2026 prospects and families can contact college coaches themselves*
Which schools would you say are the heaviest involved at this time?
“As of right now, Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, and Ohio State.”
Have any newer schools reached out since AAU ended?
“Notre Dame is the biggest one to reach out since AAU ended.”
What are your thoughts on Indiana and the coaching staff?
“I like them a lot. Coach Woodson coached in the NBA so that’s huge, and the assistants, Coach Walsh and Coach Howard have been in touch over time.”
How about Illinois? Thoughts on the program?
“Illinois is a dope school man. Coach Underwood seems like a great coach and I like their playstyle as well. One of their assistants Coach Frazier has been building a great relationship with me and my family so it’s nothing but great vibes so far. They’re also my first unofficial and I’m super excited to get on campus today.”
How about Ohio State?
“I like Ohio State. They have been interested in me for about a year now. The assistant, Coach Owens, is a great guy and he always shows love. Hope to get on an unofficial soon.”
What other visits do you have planned and are you working on?
“I have Northwestern as well this month. Also planning to get to Notre Dame as well sometime soon and possibly Indiana.”
How would you best describe your game?
“I’d say I’m a three-level scorer, underrated passer, and defender. I’m super strong getting to the basket, athletic, and can get to the free throw line at any given time. Nice mid-range pull-up and solid three-point shooter. I’m trying to keep improving on all these things so I can continue to get better.”
And how would you like to evolve your game?
“Just continuing to work on everything and prove that I’m a complete player that does it all at a high level.”
