It was a phenomenal summer for 6-foot-7 junior and Downey, CA native Jakobi Oware. Playing up on the 17U Pro16 League circuit with Team CPSA, the talented 3-and-D prospect made an immediate impact, showcasing his silky-smooth athleticism while asserting himself as a must-see prospect in the 2028 class.
Oware, who is also a 4.0 student, put together a breakout summer. He stood out throughout the circuit, earned an invite to Formula Zero Camp, and capped off his summer at the Hoops By Ugland Skills Summit.
Despite playing up in age, Oware’s impact on the CPSA squad didn’t go unnoticed. He was efficient throughout the summer and made a major impact on both ends of the floor. His high basketball IQ was one of the qualities that caught the attention of coaches, while his ability to consistently knock down shots at 6-foot-7 added another intriguing element to his game.
After his impressive summer, Oware has stamped himself as a surefire Top-100 prospect in the 2028 class with tremendous upside. I could see him making his way into the eventual Top 50, with a legitimate chance to climb even higher as he continues to develop.

”Georgia, Cal, Utah, Creighton, and UCLA.”
Any new interested schools?
”I’ve heard from Boston College and Stanford recently.”
Thoughts on Georgia?
I like it, I’ve seen good things about the coach and the environment there. I’m looking forward to my visit.”
How about Cal?
”I like it as well. It’s been good communication, and I like the coaching staff’s experience and resumes. It also sounds like a good environment from what I’ve heard.”
Creighton?
”I’ve liked talking to their coaches, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of what their atmosphere and team is like.”
Utah?
“I liked talking to the head coach, and I like it being in the Big 12 as well, also their vision of me playing there.”

”Georgia on September 26th.”
How would you best break down your game?
”I’m a versatile player who can make a difference in different ways on the court. I have a very good shooting ability and understanding of the game, paired with my size and athleticism, making me a threat offensively and defensively.”
How do you want to improve this year?
”I want to improve on my handles and playmaking on the ball, and my production.”
How would this past summer on the AAU circuit help you?
”I would say this past summer on AAU helped to raise my stock tremendously, and give me a better opportunity to play high-level college basketball as well as showcasing my skills on the high school level against other talented guys.”
