Breaking: Louisville lands four-star senior Curtis Williams Jr.
The decision is in for Curtis Williams Jr., a four-star senior forward. He is down to five schools and tells Stockrisers.com that he’s chosen Louisville.
Kenny Payne and the Cardinals secure a commitment from the 6-foot-6, 205-pound forward, who impressed Payne and his staff during the July live period while he was playing with The Family on the EYBL circuit. They would end up offering him on July 11th.
Since seeing him on the EYBL circuit, where he averaged 12 points, six boards, and three assists, the Cardinals staff built a relationship with Williams Jr. and his family before ultimately hosting him for an official visit this past weekend.
“The visit [sealed the deal],” Williams Jr. told Stockrisers.com.
Worth noting he visited with Cardinals’ fellow 2023 commit, Kaleb Glenn.
It was evident that Glenn made a push at Williams Jr., something that Curtis confirmed, also adding that Glenn was also one of the [many] reasons he committed.
“Yeah, he definitely was a big factor,” he said when speaking on Glenn.
More on his decision below:
Why Louisville?
“They’re going to let me play my game, and also develop me into the best. I just fit their system.”
What sealed the deal?
“The visit sealed it pretty much. After I was able to see everything and watch the film with them I just knew this was the spot.”
How do you see yourself fitting in Payne’s system?
“I see myself fitting because I can guard one through four and I can also score the basketball on all three levels, he loves players like that.”
Describe Coach Payne, and why join his first recruiting class.
“He has a vision and also an amazing coaching staff.”
Briefly describe your game.
“I’m an all-around player in my opinion. I can score off the dribble, guard one through four, rebound, and also be a great leader.”
