2023's George Washington III starting to add scholarship offers

I’ve introduced several 2023 prospects here on Stockrisers.com, one was George Washington III out of Louisville Christian Academy. He began the summer off with no scholarship offers, but, the 6-foot-3 guard let his game do the talking and has quickly added three scholarship offers from Louisville, Ohio State, and Auburn.

George Washington III is originally from Austin, Texas but has transitioned into a new state for his sophomore campaign. The 6-foot-3 guard now hails in Louisville, Kentucky where he attends the Christian Academy of Louisville.

This season, he’s adjusted to his new school with a new role and new teammates, and boy, he’s thrived and has thrived quickly. He’s a very fluid shooter, a great athlete, and back to the shooting, he’s deadly. I think when all is said and done, he will be regarded as one of the best shooters/scorers in his class, but, will also be highly rated in his new state.

I got the chance to watch Washington III this summer, most recently two weeks back at the Titans/Rockets Shootout in Shelbyville, KY, where Washington III had a very nice influx of college coaches watch him including Louisville, Cinci, WKU, Virginia, Boston College, and many others.

Now, let’s talk recruiting with GWIII who talked with Stockrisers.com THIS MORNING!!!.

Which schools are heavily involved?

“Ohio State, Louisville, Auburn, Florida State, Liberty, George Washington, and Cincinnati.”

Any new schools in the mix?

Oklahoma State, Tulsa and UNLV have also reached out though and I’ve been communicating with them more.”

Discuss your recent unofficial visit to Cincinnati.

“The Cincinnati visit was great. I love their coach and the energy he brings from meeting him and watching their practice, and the campus is very accessible and close-knit.”

And how about Louisville? You’re evidently a major target for them.

“Louisville is amazing. I’ve been in contact with them quite a bit, it was great being able to play in front of the whole coaching staff, and developing that relationship further will be great.”

Your first offer from Ohio State, what was that visit like?

“Ohio State was also unbelievable, I just got a great vibe from the whole staff and the campus and I’ll definitely be back for more visits, and getting to know them and communicate with them more has been great.”

Any new visits?

“‘I’m not 100% sure of any new visits but I definitely want to work to visit Liberty and definitely Florida State which would be something I’ve been looking forward to for a while.”

What are your summer goals?

“I mean my goals this summer are pretty simple, I want to of course win peach jam and also show out and prove and solidify myself as a top guard in my class without any doubt.”
