Four-star junior Denver Anglin is a national priority for many schools

I’ve mentioned the extreme talent level that’s blossoming in the state of New Jersey. You’ve already got several powerhouse programs, high-level players, etc. Gill St. Bernard’s has one of the hidden gem prospects in the entire state, his name is Denver Anglin. The 6-foot-2 combo has asserted himself as one of the best two-way guards on the east coast.

Anglin gives you a very nice combination of skill and being vocal. He’s always one of the loudest players on the floor but also brings you elite skills on both ends of the floor. Speed, great playmaker, can score on all levels and is also a very capable defender. I’d expect him to add more muscle before his departure to college, but, he has thrived and is deserving of much more attention.

This summer, he will play his AAU basketball with the NY Renaissance. I expect him to create tons of buzz playing with them this Spring and summer, and only time will tell. Anglin has extremely high hopes for this Rens team, saying that they all believe they could go on a run and win Peach Jam this summer.

He’s already proven here early in the live period that he will be a consistent shooting threat who will have a major impact on the floor. Anglin has over 20 scholarship offers as well, a number that I expect to grow all summer long.

Let’s talk to Denver. He caught up with Stockrisers.com as we discussed his recruitment and summer goals.

Which schools are heavily involved?

“UConn, Georgetown, Stanford, Providence, Northwestern, and Xavier.”

Any new schools involved?

“Marquette, Washington, Miami, and Maryland have contacted me recently and the head coach of Creighton contacted me this weekend and offered.”

Discuss Georgetown, breakdown the Hoyas, a program you visited.

“Georgetown is a great school both academically and athletically which is what I am looking for in any college that is in my recruitment and they have constantly told me how important I am to their program.”

You just visited UConn, where do things stand with them?

“UConn is always talking to me and they are very invested in what I can bring to the team. Coach Hurley and Coach Kimani also tell me how much I could grow as a player in their system as well.”

Notre Dame?

“Notre Dame just came on to my recruitment not too long ago but the history of that school speaks for itself. I know the Guard, TJ Gibbs, that attended there and had a very good career at the university and I can’t wait to keep the relationship going.”

Any other visits?

“My family and I haven’t thought about which schools we want to go out to see yet but we are definitely going to see other schools and revisit some of them as well.”

Summer goals?

“My summer goal is to win Peach Jam and that is it. The only other thing is just growing as a player, gaining more knowledge about the game, and how I can impact the game in different ways.”
