Sahvir Wheeler was an underrated prospect coming out of Houston Christian High School in Texas. Rated amongst the Top-100 prospects in the 2019 class, Wheeler, pledged himself to Tom Crean and the Georgia Bulldogs.

After a great freshman season and a nice sophomore campaign, averaging 14 points and 7.4 boards per game, Wheeler decided it’s best for his future to transfer.

Where’s he headed? Wheeler told Stockrisers.com on Sunday night that he will be headed to the University of Kentucky where he will play for John Calipari and the Wildcats.

“University of Kentucky, this schools gives me the opportunity to make a run at a national championship and pursue my dreams of playing in the NBA,” Wheeler told Stockrisers.com.

Once more, the talented PG had a very good sophomore season.

He’s looking to build on that and set both personal goals and team goals heading into his first year with the SEC powerhouse.

“First. Win a national championship,” he said. Personally, Wheeler has high hopes for himself. The well-known film junkie by his coaches and teammates is striving to possibly be an All-American and first team All-Conference.

What was Calipari’s message?

"Cal’s  message was you don’t come here if you aren’t willing to bet on yourself and try to accomplish all your goals. You’re coming here to compete and play against the best in the country. I love that. Cal has a track record of putting PGs in the league that play fast and aggressive. That’s how I compare with those guards. A dynamic playmaker who will do whatever to win games at a high level."

What makes Kentucky so special? and What does UK mean to you now?

“The platform, the stage, the lights, I love that. UK means a lot, it’s a opportunity to elevate my game, win and change my life for the future."

When will you arrive in Lexington and what is Sahvir Wheeler doing from Day one?

"I believe May 29th, Day one I have to touch the gym and workout. But also looking forward to meeting my teammates and all the basketball staff involved with UK basketball."
