2022's Bryce Lindsay emerging as popular recruit
Poly Institute’s Bryce Lindsay wasn’t a popular recruit heading into the summer. Fast forward now, he’s showcased himself all summer long and a recent performance at Beltway Battle Showcase sparked interest from high-majors all over the country.
The 6-foot-3 guard can put up a frenzy of numbers on the score sheet. Averaging 14 points per game along with seven rebounds and five assists with Team Thrill. I’ve had coaches rave about his ability to lead an offense and plugin such a high-IQ on both ends.
Lindsay took the time to be Stockrisers.com’s Wednesday’s featured Q&A.
Which schools are in the mix?
Lindsay: “Syracuse, Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, Maryland, Clemson, Indiana. My offers are Georgetown, V-Tech, VCU, George Mason, LaSalle, Austin Peay, Howard, Mt St Mary’s, and Bryant.”
Newer schools in the mix?
Lindsay: “Florida, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Marquette.”
Before we get into the recruiting, for the reader describe your game if you’re creating a scouting report.
Lindsay: “My game is being able to score at a high level in all three categories. I can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court, off the dribble, and catch and shoot. My passing skills and my IQ is elite. I have a Steph curry, Trae Young type of game.”
What is Georgetown pitching, they were amongst your first major offers?
Lindsay: “Coach Ewing and I talked and he said I’m a great PG. I control the pace of the game and my IQ is at a high level.”
What about Virginia Tech, your lone ACC offer?
Lindsay: “Coach Frazier said he’s in love with my game. I control the whole game. I am a PG. Some people might think I am a short two-guard because I am taller than most AAU PGs, but I continue and have all of the skills of a PG.”
Ole Miss is a newer one as well, thoughts?
Lindsay: “Coach Hamilton said he loves how good I can shoot the ball. I can pretty much shoot from anywhere on the court. Also, he likes that I can beat my defender whenever I want.”
Season expectations?
Lindsay: “I want to be ranked top-25 in my class, I want to get recruited by the blue-blood schools, and also I want to get an offer by a Big-12 school.”
