KJ Evans was recently named amongst the Top-10 sophomores in the country by ESPN. The 6-foot-8 forward has established himself as one of the most impressive prospects in the 2023 class. The athletic prospect is still growing and has some of the most upside in his class.

His cousin, Che, is headed to San Diego State and is looking to follow in his cousin's footsteps and play at a top-ranked college program.

Evans holds impressive recruitment just one year into high school, his offer list?

Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, TCU, Wake Forest, Maryland, Kansas, Auburn, DePaul, Georgetown, George Washington, St. John’s, Xavier, San Diego State, and Virginia Tech.

He also holds interest from the following programs:

“Memphis, Michigan State, Notre Dame, VCU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Boston University, TCU, Georgia Tech, are amongst those interested.

His most recent offer comes from Pittsburgh and the offer was cordially extended by head coach Jeff Capel. Evans Jr. has instantly become an instant favorite for Capel who heavily recruits the DMV area including the Team Durant AAU program in which Evans Jr. plays for.

Evans Jr. said the following on Capel’s pitch:

“He said he really likes my game and he will continue to recruit me hard.”

How does Evans describe his game?

“I shoot a lot of threes, I can push the ball up the court on fast breaks and make the right play on offense, and I block shots.”
