It has been another standout year for Top-50 prospect Joshua Tyson, and what's shaping up to be a pivotal summer began with an impressive junior season.
In his final campaign at Lakota West, Tyson averaged 16.3 points, 3.8 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game while establishing himself as one of the premier guards in the 2027 class.
Shortly after the season, Tyson announced his transfer to La Lumiere, where he'll spend his senior year competing against elite national competition.
Tyson leaves Lakota West after making a significant impact on the program and now heads to one of the country's premier high school basketball powerhouses. The move presents another opportunity for him to continue his development against some of the nation's top talent.
Over the past few years, Tyson's steady progression has been evident on both ends of the floor, and his recruitment has reflected that growth. As his game has continued to evolve, he's drawn considerable attention from Power Four programs, with college coaches viewing him as one of the top backcourt prospects in the 2027 class.

Which schools are heavily involved?
“Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Xavier, Michigan State, and Clemson.”
Any new schools in the mix?
“Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State.”
Virginia Tech?
“They stand in high regard considering how long they have been following me and my journey.”
Ohio State?
“The same thing.”
How is your relationship with Michigan State?
“Michigan State has been recruiting me for some time now. My relationship with them is solid. Me and Coach Izzo have already started texting each other, and Coach Saddi [Washington] has been recruiting me since last year.”
Thoughts on Cincinnati’s new staff?
“A group of men with great vibes and good demeanor. They are proven winners, and I’m excited to see what they can do this year.”
How about Clemson?
“I’ve known Coach Morgan since he was on the Cincinnati staff, and ever since, our relationship has gotten stronger.”
Commitment timeline?
“October 1st is a good date I’m shooting for, nothing set in stone though.”
