Four-star junior Ernest Udeh Jr. is a national priority.

Prior to the pandemic, I watched a big man by the name of Ernest Udeh Jr.

The Dr. Phillips big man and the 6-foot-10 junior out of Florida is one of the more underrated bigs in the entire class of 2022. He had an excellent showing this weekend in Dallas and was dominant for Southeast Elite. The development from when I watched him in 2020 till now has been drastic and his upside is through the roof.

Udeh Jr. is a dynamic two-way prospect. Can be a physical and dominant paint beast on the offensive end and then he reciprocates it on the other end as he blocks a high amount of shots. In addition, he is a really confident prospect and one of those guys that back up his talk.

Said this on May 25th:

His recruitment? Will grow.

Florida, Ole Miss, Temple, USF, are amongst the ten scholarship offers that he currently holds, a list I expect to grow with many new programs entering the mix as he has a strong start to AAU basketball after the weekend he had. So, that leaves us with this, which programs are in the mix, and have any new ones get involved?

Since, he’s landed offers from Kansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Cinci, Hofstra, Alabama, Indiana, amongst several others. Now, we want to hear more from him on his recruitment and his thoughts on the recent offers that he’s added.

Udeh Jr. answers those hard-hitting questions for Stockrisers.com

Which schools are heavily involved?

“Florida, Miami, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and Kansas I’d say are recruiting me hard lately.”

Any newer schools entering the mix?

“Michigan, UCLA, N.C. State are some of the newer schools I’m hearing from.”

Thoughts on the Tennessee offer?

“Tennessee has been showing love long before they offered. Coach Bryan saw me playing and loved my energy and the level I played at.”

How about Alabama?

“Alabama I’d say has been talking to my Coach Ricks about me for some time and this past weekend they saw me play and offered after one of my games.”

Thoughts on Illinois?

“Coach Frazier with Illinois has been watching me since my first offer, he’s always loved the way I played so I definitely get along with him.”

Visits?

“I don’t have any visits planned yet, but I do intend to maybe take some in late July, early August, or sometimes during the school year.”

Commitment timeline?

”I don’t have a specific timeline but, I don’t want to commit too early or late either.”

Breakdown of your game?

“My defense is what has made me stand out ever since freshman year. I’ve grown to be more of an offensive threat in the past few months. I have added a consistent mid-range to my game. I can iso from inside out. Playing hard with energy will never be an issue no matter what the game situation is.”
