The DMV is absolutely loaded with talent, from five-star talent all the way to the underrated prospects. Bryce Lindsay is a guard who had tons of attention in the DMV this season and I believe that attention can translate to the national level.

Lindsay attends Baltimore Polytechnic in Maryland and has played around some talented guys, but, always makes a major impact regardless of the role and situation. He’s been able to find his groove over his junior season and that includes very efficient shooting clips and he’s also become a key floor general with a nack to get his teammates involved.

As for his recruitment, he has plenty of programs vying for his talent, with plenty more expected to get involved at some point especially with the summer looming and AAU ball getting underway over the last few weeks.

He would wound up taking an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh as well, one in which he would build a relationship with Jeff Capel, who offered Lindsay mid-visit.

Lindsay took the time to sit down with Stockrisers.com and discuss his recruitment, here’s how it went.

Which programs are heavily involved?

“Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Purdue, and more.”

Any new schools?

“Cincinnati, Ohio State, Georgia, Iona, Florida State.”

Talk Pittsburgh. What was that visit like and your instant reaction when Capel offered?

“It was a great first visit man. Coach Capel is an awesome guy and he’s a basketball fanatic who has a lot of experience and he loves me. He said, “I would fit right in with the way they play.” Pitt does a lot of pushing the ball they like to school in the first 5-6 seconds of them getting the defensive rebound. That means they need guys to knock down shots and make the right plays.”

What about a program like Virginia Tech? What is your relationship with Coach Young?

“Virginia Tech is a school that has been on me from the start. Great program, it’s a lovely situation, the best conference in college basketball (ACC). Coach Young is a big energy guy, he wants to make me a Hokie really bad. I’m scheduling a visit with them soon.”

And Purdue? What is the latest with them and do you expect to visit?

“I hear from Coach Brantley a lot. They also send me mail every day just to get a feel on how the school and basketball program is. They think I could be the next big thing there on the court and off the court.”

Summer goals?

“My recruitment is still open I am looking to get more exposure either at Peach Jam or these Live Periods.”

How would you best describe your game entering the summer?

“I have a Trae Young or Steph Curry play style. I excel in ball screens very well, high IQ PG, I can break down my defender and get to the basketball and I can shoot the three balls from 40 feet.”
