The COVID-19 pandemic hurt plenty of guys, especially the ones who fly under-the-radar. One underrated guy who is displaying his talent this fall is Jarvis Moss. This is a guy who would’ve benefited from several canceled events this summer but he is making up for it this winter.

Moss is a 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard from Concord, North Carolina. He plays for the Cannon school and is a 2021 prospect that remains unsigned. He recently put on a very solid performance at the Battle at the Rock event recently held in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

He has taken full advantage of a canceled summer that he would’ve benefited from and has just turned it into grinding and just putting in extra work. Last month, Cannon opened up their season and Moss didn’t miss a beat. In the first game of the season, he finished with 37-points in a win for his school.

Now, things are heating up in his recruitment and he discussed it all with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are involved in your recruitment?

“Schools such as Stanford, New Mexico, Murray State, Penn, Vanderbilt, Kansas, and Indiana are involved in my recruitment.”

Which is the newest school in the mix?

“The only new interest I’ve received in the last month is probably Murray State.”

You recently talked with Stanford, discuss them and your thoughts?

”Stanford is a great academic and basketball school and great players have come through their program and have succeeded. Their program is about developing players and helping them grow.”

What about a program like New Mexico, which has been on you hard?

“New Mexico is a program that has a history behind itself. The whole state loves to support the Lobos and New Mexico’s playing style is a system that is easy to fall in love with as well.”

How about an Ivy League option in Penn?

”Of course is an Ivy League school with outstanding academics but the basketball program is proving to everyone that they’re not just an academic school but they can compete with anyone and play a tough schedule year-round.”

Commitment date or timeline?

“I have not made a final date on my decision to commit but it won’t be too long.

How long?

“Within the next two or three months.”

What are you looking for in a program?

“What I’m looking for in a program is a team that I can come in and immediately impact their program. I want a program that is going to get me to the next level and help me grow as a player and in life as well. I also want a program where we could call each other family.

Describe your game.

”I believe my game is different from everyone else. In years past,  I’ve just been labeled as a shooter but with being in quarantine this summer, I have been able to work on putting the ball on the ground and attacking and getting my head at the rim. I can shoot off the catch and on the dribble, I can finish at the rim and I’m a playmaker looking to create for others. I have gotten stronger and faster which has helped me be a force on defense. I have great leadership and I love to compete and just prove to everybody I deserve to be here.”
