Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several guys lost out on an opportunity to showcase their talents on the AAU circuit or at camps as many things were canceled. One guy who has flown under-the-radar and is watching his recruitment pick up is Christ Presbyterian Academy’s (TN) junior Braeden Moore.

The 6-foot-8 prospect, originally from the West Coast, has been quite the prospect in the 2022 class and displays his ability to score at several levels, get to the rim, make plays, and with his length, he has become a capable defender of multiple positions.

Moore discussed his recruitment and went in-depth on that and his game with Stockrisers.com.

How do you feel about the recruiting process at this point?

“I’ve been blessed and have a lot of schools showing interest. My criteria are culture, overall fit, and academics. I’m looking for the best fit, which may or may not be a big logo. Both of my parents were collegiate athletes, which has really helped in this process.”

Which schools are involved currently (offers and interest)

“Texas A&M, Arizona State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, USC, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Indiana, Auburn, Missouri, Ohio State, Florida State, Arkansas, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Iowa, NC State, Boston College, TCU, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Utah, Penn, Butler, Cincinnati

Old Dominion, Duquesne, Xavier, Ohio University, Memphis, Valparaiso, Liberty, SMU, Belmont, Western Kentucky, Pepperdine, UC Davis, James Madison, Lipscomb, San Diego State, UCF, Rice, Richmond, Oral Roberts, Western Illinois.”

Who are some of the newer schools involved?

“The newer schools are Illinois, Texas A&M, Butler, USC (SoCal), Penn, and Ole Miss.”

Who are your most recent offers?

”Arizona State, Boston College, TCU.”

Breakdown of those schools?

Arizona State: “I live in Nashville but grew up in Southern California watching the PAC-12. ASU is a program on the rise and Coach Hurley has a great passion for the game. They have a fun style of play.”

Boston College: “Obviously being in the ACC, Boston College plays in a very competitive conference. I like the coaching staff and am impressed with their focus on player development.”

TCU: “The Big 12 is also a great conference and I have family that attended TCU and I like the coaches. The culture of Texas is very similar to Tennessee, which I really like.”

Describe your game.

”I’m considered one of the best shooters in the country, as I made around 100 three’s last season. I’m over 6-foot-8 and can do just about anything on the floor. I would call myself more of a European-style player but with grit.

I’m most known for my shooting but usually, college coaches are most surprised about my handles and passing abilities. Coaches like that I can I rebound but more importantly I can defend positions 2-5. I'm very versatile and play wing/guard as well as small forward.”

Season expectations.

”My high school team is really good this year and I have great teammates and amazing coaching staff. We are predicted to win state. This is my 4th year playing varsity, so my focus is on being the best leader I can be for my team. For me, winning a state championship is my ultimate goal.”
