Breaking: Louisville lands four-star junior D'Ante Davis
Chris Mack hauled in a very solid two classes to start his tenure at Louisville. His third one is off to a nice start as the Cardinals have landed the commitment of four-star junior De’Ante Davis, he told Stockrisers.com.
The 6-foot-7 wing attends Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, IN. He chose the Cardinals over scholarship offers from Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Butler, and several others. Davis attended Lawrence Central and averaged 10.5 points per game along with four rebounds.
His father, D’Andre, would then land a coaching role with Warren Central where Tae is averaging 9.7 points and four rebounds in his first three games. His most recent contest resulted in 15 points, continuing a nice streak of good performances.
Davis explained his decision to commit to the Cardinals with Stockrisers.com.
Which school did you choose and why?
“The school I chose is Louisville and you know, it didn’t have anything to do with my brother. No knock to any other school but Louisville had a different type of approach in the way they recruited me. Making me feel good as a player and making me feel important and just recruiting me the hardest. It was a no-brainer.
Coach Mack would facetime or call me just to check up on me or talk to me and it was just a no-brainer, I was like I knew this was the school for me. No other school does a head coach facetime you or call you and check in on you. The coaching staff, not many players get to know the coaching staff and have a great relationship like that and the players as well.
You know it was a no-brainer for me. I really embrace the way they came after me as far as my recruitment, that’s really the reason why. A great relationship with the staff, I love the school, and I know this was the school for me and the right coaching staff for me.”
When did you know you wanted to make a pledge to the Cardinals?
“There was really no set date that I knew. I didn’t really have a date, you know. This was a decision that came from the heart. I matured, I’m learning and I came to realize why wait if this is the school for me. Why waste my time and everybody else time. So yeah, this is the school for me and it came from the heart.”
Thoughts on teaming up with your brother Dre?
“I don’t know if he will be there, I don’t know what will happen in the future. If Dre is there it will be exciting to get on the floor with him again. Not many people get to do that, it will be historical and it will be great. It will be very exciting for me and I will definitely look forward to that.”
