Riley Mulvey has earned himself a handful of division one offers but is seeing plenty of high-majors keeping close tabs on him. The 6-foot-10 center is currently rated as a three-star by several outlets but is rising fast. Mulvey is attending St. Thomas More in Connecticut, but was previously attending Alabany Academy in Albany, NY.

Last season, he averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds per game. He was able to establish himself as a raw paint presence who can score anywhere in the paint. Coaches are very intrigued with his size and ability to read the boards and use his length to be active on second-chance points, especially putbacks.

As we stated, he holds several offers including Syracuse, Iowa, and most recently one from Penn State. Mulvey talked the programs involved with Stockrisers.com.

Which programs are in the mix heavily?

Mulvey: “Iowa, Syracuse, Yale, Kansas, Iona, and Providence have contacted me recently.”

What are your thoughts on Syracuse?

Mulvey: “Well Coach McNamara and Coach Autry have been contacting me often. The coaches say that they play the ball through the big men which I can compliment very well due to the way I play.”

How about Iowa, you’ve visited and they have already offered.

Mulvey: “For Iowa, Coach [Fran] McCaffery has compared me to Luka [Garza] and says that I’d be a big that runs the floor for them and get a ton of offensive boards.”

Iona is newly involved as well, thoughts?

Mulvey: “For Iona College, I’ve been contacted by Coach Abatemarco and have seen a virtual tour of the campus. They haven’t really specified how I’d play because we haven’t talked that long but just that they’d develop me into a better player.”

Kansas is the newest, what are they saying?

Mulvey: “I’ve been talking to Coach Roberts and i would be a hustle player that gets boards and runs the floor for them.”

Yale?

Mulvey: “I’ve been in contact with Coach Simon recently and they would play me as a big they play through.”

What about Providence?

Mulvey: “With them I’ve been talking with Coach Blainey and I’ve been seeing their workout plans through books that they’ve sent. I would be a big that they put the ball through.”
