Top-50 junior Felix Okpara updates his recruitment

This summer, Hamilton Heights (TN.) center Felix Okpara has emerged as one of 2022’s top-rated center prospects. Regarded as one of the best paint-protectors and shot-blockers in the class, Okpara has his list of suitors and leads very solid recruitment.

Currently standing at 6-foot-11 and weighing 210-pounds, Okpara leads a very impressive skill set. He’s a polished defender with an excellent rebounding ability. In addition, he’s blooming offensively as he’s working on his craft and his handle.

He discussed, in short, the latest on his recruitment with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are still in the mix?

Okpara: “Tennessee, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas, Wake Forest, and San Diego.”

And what about interests, which schools have interest in you?

Okpara: “Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Memphis, South Carolina, Gonzaga, Arkansas, Illinois, Providence, and Creighton.”

Texas is your newest offer, thoughts on Coach Smart and the Longhorns?

Okpara: “I think Coach Smart is an amazing coach and has been great at helping big men like me develop their game and ultimately reach the next level.”

Kentucky is also inquiring about you to your coaches, correct?

Okpara: “Yeah, they’ve pretty much been talking to my high school coach.”

If you had to briefly say what each school pitches to you, what would you say?

Okpara: “Pretty much they all say that they love the way I run the floor and play good defense. They also love my aggression on offense.”

Describe your game and areas you’re looking to improve in?

Okpara: “I play both defense and offense. I really take pride in my defense and then on offense, I’m more like a four because I can shoot the ball, take it to the rim, and I can also post up. I’ve been in the gym working on my shooting and my ball-handling.”
