Dana Altman has tried to prioritize local talent over the past few seasons for the Ducks. It doesn’t get much better for the pledge he landed today as five-star senior Nate Bittle has committed to Oregon over Gonzaga, Arizona, and UCLA, he told Stockrisers.com.

“I will be attending Oregon because I have built a great relationship with the coaches and it’s always been a winning program,” Bittle said.

The 6-foot-10 prospect has been one of the most consistent five-stars in the 2021 class over his past few years of high school. For his senior year he will leave Crater (Ore.), where he was the top-ranked player in the state for years, to attend Prolific Prep in Northern California.

“Prolific Prep will prepare me for Oregon beacuse I am working out 2-3 times a day plus practice and weights and it’s also playing against the best players and building relationships.”

Bittle recently made the decision to announce his commitment after a late-night phone call with Ducks head coach Dana Altman:

“I had talked with Coach Altman the night before the next morning I thought about it and decided to I wanted to be a Duck. I called my parents and then coach and they were all for it.”

To cap off our conversation, I asked Bittle who he will recruit with him to Eugene, his answer: “I really want Hunter Sallis,” the Top-10 guard.
