The two-sport athlete is a popular trend nowadays with several high-level prospects holding high-major football and basketball offers. The next best two-sport athlete goes by the name Anthony Black. The 6-foot-6 wing out of Coppell High School in Texas holds offers from Baylor, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and several others.

He also holds several offers for football including Baylor, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, and others.

“The schools involved the most in no order include Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State,” Black told Stockrisers.com.

His father is a Baylor alum and the Bears have obviously been heavily involved. Black broke down three programs included in his recruitment:

Texas: “The staff reaches out to tell me I’m a priority and to check in on me and they call me a lot to talk basketball.”

Texas A&M: “They’ve been in heavy contact. The entire staff, every two to three weeks, does a full staff zoom call.”

Texas Tech: “They’ve been letting me know that they think I can help them win a national championship.”

As far as his recruitment goes, Black is one of the busier 2022 prospects since he speaks with coaches from both Football and Basketball. The main question usually asked high-major dual-sport athletes is ‘What sport will you play in college’ - - Black’s answer: Both.

But which programs have given him that option?

Baylor, Texas, Colorado want me to play both. Arkansas mentioned it.”

Jake’s Take

Black is a super dynamic athlete with a major upside. He isn’t finished growing yet and could grow up to three more inches. It is still super early in his dual-sport recruitment and he already holds an impressive offer and interest sheet. It’s still a tad early for national basketball recruitment but I fully expect him to nab more out of state offers for basketball this fall.
