Greenwood’s Aminu Mohammed has remained five-star status over his high school career and there are many reasons why. The dynamic-wing averaged nearly a triple-double during his first two seasons and continues the success during year three.

He’s seen his recruitment grow over the past two years in drastic ways. Blue blood programs didn’t show much interest but many high-majors are involved in his recruitment.

Among the programs involved: Kansas State, Louisville, Maryland, Georgia, Georgetown, Oklahoma State, Harvard, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Wake Forest, amongst many others. Out of this list, many of the head coaches have conducted several virtual calls and will continue that stretch.

The first head coach to reach out when the pandemic started: Louisville’s Chris Mack. Since Mohammed says that they call at least once a week.

Indiana’s Archie Miller conducted a full-staff zoom meeting with Mohammed weeks back and according to his guardian Shawn Harmon, it went extremely well and Miller emphasized that he’s a priority.

Another program heavily in the mix: Georgia. Head coach Tom Crean and his staff remain in heavy contact and have already conducted several calls with him.

In addition, Georgetown, Harvard, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, are the newer programs involved as all three offered a scholarship over the last two months.

“All coaches are saying that they see me as a dynamic player that can really elevate their program and they’d love to coach me.”

Harvard is one of the newer programs in the mix and Tommy Amaker was able to conduct a virtual meeting with his staff and Mohammed and his guardian. According to Mohammed’s guardian Shawn Harmon, the meeting with Harvard’s staff went really well. They’re emphasizing the academic side of things which is big for Aminu.

As far as a decision, he will aim to make his college choice likely in November or December. They’re aiming to do it at Greenwood’s Blue and Gold game or the BassPro tournament, both take place this fall.

Stanford is the newest program in the mix but they’ve yet to extend an offer.
