Memphis native Alden Applewhite had a spectacular year with Houston High School after transferring there last fall. This upcoming season he is taking his talents to Arizona Compass Prep.

The 6-foot-6 wing watched his recruitment take new heights after this year and it included several new offers both then and now during COVID-19.

Among the programs involved?

"TCU, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, St.Johns, Xavier, amongst others.” Out of this list, Wake Forest is the most recent offer for him, and the staff, spearheaded by Steve Forbes, completed a virtual visit with Applewhite.

Now that times are crazy, it has given programs more time to evaluate the underrated prospect and decide if they want to reach out, many of whom have. There's been new programs reaching out daily and the newest ones: "New programs that have reached out to me recently are Texas, NC State, Butler and Auburn have reached out to me.

As I mentioned, Iowa State and Wake Forest completed a virtual visit with him.

The other programs that completed virtual visits with him include St. John's, Xavier, and Ole Miss. He says the new programs involved, Auburn and Texas, will likely do virtual meetings and visits 'in the next week or so'

Applewhite listed Texas A&M as a program who is making a major push and they been on him hard lately.

I asked Applewhite when he could possibly make a decision as things heat up in his recruitment. As expected he said that he plans on waiting till the recruiting ban is lifted and he would like to take his five official visits.
