Quick: Top-50 junior DaRon Holmes talks his recruitment
Arizona prospect DaRon Holmes II says that his favorite player in the NBA is easily Raptors star Pascal Siakam. Both players have a similar skillset being for the fact that Holmes isn’t your ordinary prospect. He can run the floor in transition, he’s unselfish, can make plays all over the offensive end, etc. It’s safe to say one school will get lucky.
The 6-foot-8 forward announced his transfer to Montverde Academy in Florida which once again, is expected to make a major push at the national title.
Where does his recruitment stand currently?
Holmes said there’s a group of programs that are on him really heavy, the list includes “Arizona, Arkansas, Cal, Dayton, Kansas, LMU, Marquette, Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, and Tennessee.”
Out of that list, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Tennessee are some of his more recent scholarship offers.
Like everyone else, he has had to use zoom for his meetings and visits with each staff. He says that he’s pretty much zoomed with every single staff ‘except with Oregon and Tennessee’ but, those are two newer programs in his recruitment so it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to do one.
He didn’t go into much about cutting down his list or anything really like that but was very vocal on a potential timeline for his college choice.
“We are trying to commit by March or early April,” he said.
