Breaking: UConn lands five-star senior Eric Reibe, he talks his decision

BREAKING: UConn is continuing to add to its 2025 class as they’ve got a massive commitment from skilled 7-footer and five-star senior Eric Reibe, he told Stockrisers.com.

Reibe asserted himself this summer as one of the most skilled bigs in the nation, regardless of class, and his recruitment skyrocketed this year. 

He was a top performer on the Puma Pro16 circuit this summer, attended multiple high-level camps, including the NBAPA Top-100 camp, and once again played with the German U18 Fiba squad, one in which he won the European Championship in 2022.

His success has led him to the defending back-to-back champion, UConn Huskies.

“The player development stood out to me, especially with Clingan, and sending six players to the league in two years and winning two national championships is very special. Coach Hurley‘s plan with me aligns perfectly, and I have a great relationship with all the coaches and players,” he told Stockrisers.com.

What was Coach Hurley’s main pitch?

“Using my offensive tools in the best ways that he can, get starting minutes early, he sees me competing for the starting spot, develops my defensive side to the max, making me NBA ready.”

How do you view yourself fitting into the system? 

“My work ethic and European training style prepare me well for the intense training. My playstyle fits into their offense, playmaking and finding open cutters, handoffs, adding pick and pops and rolls.”

What goals do you envision for yourself at UConn?

“I’m trying to win national championships for the time that I’m at UConn. Win as much as possible and do as much as possible for the team.”

How will you look to improve this upcoming season to prepare for UConn? Has the staff given you any advice on that?

“I need to get my muscle mass up and work on my physicality and overall athleticism to have an early impact. I’m working closely with their staff weight trainer and medical team to create the best plan for me.”
