Discussing the contenders for Top-50 senior Eric Reibe

When you look at the combination of height, versatility, and skill, look no further than German forward and Top-50 senior Eric Reibe. Currently playing at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, Reibe is fresh off a massive summer and is primed for a huge senior year.

Reibe asserted himself this summer as one of the most skilled bigs in the nation, regardless of class, and his recruitment skyrocketed this year.

He was a top performer on the Puma Pro16 circuit this summer, attended multiple high-level camps, including the NBAPA Top-100 camp, and once again played with the German U18 Fiba squad, one in which he won the European Championship in 2022.

It’s safe to say Reibe's development blows me away. I first watched him in the Spring of 2023; fast-forward to now, and you can see the obvious improvements in his game. He still has the smooth lefty jumper executing it on all levels and showcased the three-ball at a high rate this summer.

His motor and ability to run the floor on offense and defense have also taken massive leaps. It’s always good to have a versatile big that can move all over the floor, especially around the perimeter.

The obvious part of his game where he produces even in limited minutes is his ability to crash the boards on both sides of the ball. His length is always a factor on the boards, as it is usually for a 7-footer.

Every young player takes massive leaps in development, but Reibe’s is huge, and it’s all the reason he is one of the best bigs in the entire country.

Last year, his recruitment was steady, mainly high-major, but it has taken off to another level. As we reported this week, Dan Hurley and the UConn staff went from the White House directly to Potomac to meet with Reibe just a week after his visit with them in Storrs.

In addition, Oregon has been in hot pursuit. Dana Altman visited Reibe at his school on the first day of the live period, and an assistant from the Ducks will also be there this week, as Reibe told Stockrisers.com. He will officially visit Eugene on the first weekend of October, and they are a program worth watching.

Creighton and Greg McDermott also remain in the mix. It was brought to my attention that many people believed Creighton was out, but not so fast; the Bluejays remain in the mix, and the head coach spearheads this recruitment.

Indiana’s Mike Woodson will also meet with Reibe this week and officially visit them this month. It seems like Woodson has his sights set on guys like Reibe, Trent Sisley, and Jalen Haralson, who he has full-court pressed this month on all three and now will see Reibe this week with an official visit in the future.

Kansas also had an official visit with him and will now send an assistant to The Bullis School this week to bolster the recruitment between the Jayhawks and the talented 7-footer. With a visit already complete, I could expect Bill Self to stop by and see Reibe eventually soon.

With visits being moved up and schools visiting Potomac, it’s safe to say things are heating up in the recruitment of Eric Reibe. Could this mean a decision is on the mend? I can’t say just yet, but it’s clear this is a multi-team battle for the talents of the dynamic 7-footer out of The Bullis School.
