Top-50 incoming junior Acaden Lewis talks recruitment, development
It’s been quite the year for Top-50 2025 prospect and Sidwell Friends (DC) point guard Acaden Lewis.
Yes, the DMV has another elite point guard in its roots, and Lewis is putting on a show for one of the country's top basketball powerhouse states.
Recently, Lewis attended Nike Elite’s Top-100 camp, where he joined a nice group of company and finished the camp Top-five in total points. Lewis is an elite scorer and didn’t shy away from it at the Top-100 camp, where within just a handful of days he scored over 120 total points.
In addition, Lewis had a terrific Spring & Summer with Team Durant on the EYBL circuit. He had multiple big-time performances, but none bigger than the one on June 25th where he scored or assisted on 43 of his team’s 51 points, finishing with 27 points, 7 assists, and six boards.
That game he shot it 12-22 from the field and some people said it was one of the top EYBL performances they saw all June.
Lewis’s big year began during his sophomore campaign. He would end up being All-MAC for Sidwell Friends. First-teamer won the DCSAA championship, then would end up defeating Wheeler in April for the State Champions Invitational.
All in all, Lewis is an elite scorer, but he also wins.
Lewis got with Stockrisers.com to discuss his recruitment, his development, and possible visits on the mend.
Which schools are the heaviest involved?
“Georgetown, Virginia, Florida State, Ohio State, Indiana, Providence, Ohio, and Virginia Tech.”
Are any new schools in the mix?
“Miss. State and Clemson texted me around Peach Jam.”
Thoughts on Georgetown and what are they pitching you?
“Haven’t always been the biggest fan of staying home, but Coach Cooley and his staff are great, re-shaping how I look at staying home for school. Gonna go on my official at some point and will definitely catch some games and keep building a relationship.”
How about Virginia, thoughts on them?
“They started recruiting me at the beginning of my sophomore year. I went on an unofficial visit and liked it. I’ve built a relationship with Coach Williford and they text and call me routinely so they are definitely in the mix.”
Providence, how heavily involved are they and their thoughts?
“I’m cool with Kim English and have an unofficial visit coming up with them in the next month. They reach out routinely and I like the staff.”
Are you planning any visits?
“Going to start my planning when I get back in town with my family. Supposed to be planning a visit to Virginia Tech and Providence, and probably some others.”
How would you like to evolve your game?
“Would like to evolve my efficiency. Want to be more reliable every game to make certain plays and shooting-wise, I want to try and stay above 40% from the three-point line and 55% from the field.”
Where do you feel like your game has evolved already?
“My pace throughout the year became very relaxed, started settling into my body and skillset and making some pretty advanced reads. Also became a much better playmaker for others rather than just myself throughout the year.”
