By the year, Canada produces its fair share of talented, up-and-coming prospects.

This past weekend in Blairstown, NJ, I saw one of Canada’s most elite high school prospects in action. 6-foot-9 swingman Will Riley is from Kitchener, Ontario, but brought his talents to Malvern, PA to continue his hoop dreams.

Riley looks to become one of Canada’s next best prospects and has risen to become one of the top-rated prospects in the entire 2025 class after coming onto the scene last year. This April though was just as big for Riley, who absolutely balled out on the EYBL’s E16 circuit.

With UPLAY Canada, Riley averaged over 21.5 points per game during two April sessions and shot the ball at a very efficient clip. It’s evident that Riley scores at a very high rate and can do it with the best of them in the 2025 class.

In addition, this season at The Phelps School, Riley was able to have multiple 30+ point games including going off for 42 points in a game as well.

Despite not putting up the craziest numbers this past weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Independent Team Camp, Riley showed major flashes of upside and it was very obvious that he can create his own shot at a high-level, but also contribute in other ways outside of scoring.

There was an influx of coaches on hand this weekend watching Riley. Seton Hall’s Sha Holloway was in, Penn State, Villanova, Miami, Marquette, just to name a few. Following his games, Riley caught up with Stockrisers.com briefly to discuss some heavy hitters in his recruitment, and some tidbits about his game.

Which schools would you say are the most involved in your recruitment right now?

“I’d say Penn State, Arkansas, Oregon, Seton Hall, Villanova, and some others.”

Any newer schools that are just now reaching out and getting involved?

“Kentucky, Gonzaga, and Michigan.”

Penn State, I know they offered recently, thoughts?

“I really like their program and they’re very close to the new school I’m at currently.”

What are your thoughts on getting recruited by a program like Gonzaga?

“It’s amazing, it’s something that I always dreamed of. They just reached out [recently] and tried setting up a call.”

How about a school like Oregon?

“They’re a great program. A lot of Canadiens went there and I’m Canadien.”

Visits, Are you working on setting any up?

“Haven’t planned anything yet, but I’m hoping to have some visits in the near future.”

What’s some of the breakdown of your game, for those who haven’t watched?

“Very versatile, High-IQ, and great footwork.”
