Another week, a new 2025 prospect we are introducing to our readers.

EJ Walker is a 6-foot-7 forward, currently attending Lloyd Memorial High School in Kentucky. Walker’s rise began this summer during a successful time with the Midwest Basketball Club and All-Ohio Red’s talented squad.

During his high school season, Walker was a vital part of a team that ultimately went 22-8 before a disappointing playoff loss, ending both Walker’s freshman year and the Juggernaut's pursuit of a championship. He looks to change that this year.

It’s early but Walker already holds scholarship offers from Northern Ohio, Toledo, Duquesne, Ohio, and Youngstown State. Most of these offers coming during AAU this season. But, when there are offers, there's interest.

Walker has drawn interest from an influx of high-major programs, a vast majority of those out of the Ohio area right now, but programs like LSU, Illinois, Western Kentucky, and Michigan State, have also shown significant interest early on in the 2025 prospect.

He discussed his recruitment with Stockrisers.com, to learn more about the talented 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward, read here.

Which schools would you say are heavily involved early?

“I’m hearing from a lot of schools, but hearing from heavily are Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue, Ohio State, Xavier, Indiana, Oklahoma, Dayton, West Virginia, Ohio, And Cincinnati.”

Any new schools?

“Illinois State and Colorado.”

What are your thoughts on Michigan State and how did your visit go?

“Michigan State was an incredible experience. The fan base and the program made me, my parents, and even my baby brother feel great. I’m excited about that relationship, Coach Izzo was very attentive which makes a big impact. The whole coaching staff makes you feel like family.”

How about Indiana?

“Indiana has been talking to me the last couple of weeks. We are in the works now to set up a date for me to come up for unofficial within the next month. I’m looking forward to seeing the campus and the history that goes with it, as well as meeting Coach [Mike] Woodson. Indiana’s fan base I heard is wild so I’m looking forward to seeing that when I go to a game.”

What about a program like Illinois?

“Illinois has been recruiting me since the last live period on the EYBL in Kansas City. Looking forward to seeing their facilities and campus. Coach Fraizer is an energetic coach, so I’m guessing that’s how they practice. Looking forward to meeting Coach [Brad] Underwood. Their fan base seems great as well from all the tweets [I’ve seen].”

How would you best describe your game?

“One word to describe my game is versatility. Creating for others and making everybody around me better and doing whatever it takes to win is how I play. I’m a three-level scorer that loves to rebound and guard multiple positions.”

Visit plans?

“I just visited Xavier, and Purdue for their elite camp. Then Michigan State on September 2nd, my second trip back to East Lansing for the opening football game.”
