Dynamic, potential, gifted, are amongst the many words you can use to describe the talented five-star sophomore Taylor Bol Bowen. The 6-foot-8 forward from Brewster Academy is already ranked extremely high in the 2023 class.

Bol Bowen was born in Egypt and first moved to Vermont when he arrived in the states. His goal now is to choose a college with not only a great basketball program but with great academics, and a chance to set him up for an excellent future.

Now, his game.

He’s a very dynamic prospect. Yes, he’s a modern-day four, that’s the best way to describe him. He’s got good size and length – we mentioned that wingspan before. In addition, Bol Bowen shoots the ball from 40% from behind the arc and over 45% from the field. He’s also a defensive menace as he blocked over 2.5 shots per game.

He proved his worth at Peach Jam this past summer. One week into the event, he was leading Expressions Basketball to multiple wins and was averaging 17.5 points, along with nine boards and an efficient shooting clip of 70% shooting. I’ll put an emphasis on his offensive game for a second. His length, versatility, just his overall talent on the offensive end is scary. Three-level scorer, agile, high-IQ, etc.

Defensively, he will haul in tons of rebounds and run in transition after that, he’s got a high motor, and can defend multiple positions.

His recruitment has blossomed over the last few months. Earned offers from Duke and Kansas and was also recently watched by Kentucky’s John Calipari. Point-blank, this is a guy that teams are making a huge push for and we heard more from Bol Bowen on his recruitment as he linked up with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are heavily involved?

“Duke, Providence, Kansas, and Arkansas.”

Talk Duke.

“Obviously an incredible school with a storied background and I can’t wait for my official visit on December 20th. Coach Scheyer sees a lot of potential in me to come in and be great at Duke.”

Kansas?

“Another school with a storied background and they’ve been recruiting me and sending me graphics every day. Learning about Kansas and how they are going to utilize me has been great so far.”

Providence?

“The city of Providence has been kind of a second home to me as I’ve been working out in providence a lot with my trainer Corey Wright and I love the energy and enthusiasm Coach Cooley brings.”

Arkansas?

“Coach Musselman has been doing a good job recruiting me and has shown nothing but love.”

Where has your game improved this season?

“My guard skills have gotten better but my next area of development is my body and I’m putting that first over everything. I think once I develop my body more I’ll be able to show a lot of the polishes I’m making on my game.”
