Top-50 junior Isaac Traudt begins June visit spree

June 1, 2021

When you think of the term breakout, you think of someone who made their mark and really took off. This past fall, Isaac Traudt witnessed his breakout. The 6-foot-9 forward out of Grand Island in Central Nebraska didn’t really become a blue-chip prospect until the fall hit and he started bringing in a variety of offers.

These offers? Deserving. Traudt has asserted himself as a dynamic two-way player and has had a dominant junior season averaging 25 points and nine rebounds per game this season. In addition, Traudt surpassed the 1,000-point mark and is likely already counting to 2,000.

Traudt did what any devoted prospect would do during the off-season. Grind. Entering this season a major focus point for him was to gain muscle and work on his physical developments, and oh, he did that indeed. Traudt would end up adding nearly 30-35 pounds of muscle and has clearly evolved his game this season.

Rather than being your face-up forward, Traudt has been able to show just how dynamic he is all season long. He’s played the perimeter, runs the floor, shoots the deep ball, aggressive drives to the rim, and he doesn’t shy away from involving his teammates, he actually loves dishing the rock.

Traudt will begin his visit spree with an unofficial visit trip to Creighton which will begin today.

Creighton, Nebraska, Virginia, Michigan State, and North Carolina will get the visits from him with all of those being officials, outside of the Creighton visit. Oklahoma might also get an official visit from Traudt but likely closer to the fall.

He talked about his visits with

Start with Creighton, you will visit them unofficially today, your thoughts on them?

“I’m excited to hang out with the new staff. Creighton was one of the first schools to recruit me and I’m pretty familiar with the campus.”

How about the other local program in Nebraska, you will be on campus this weekend?

“With them, I’m also looking forward to hanging out with the staff and getting to see the campus and facilities. Coach Hoiberg has been recruiting me for a while and we have a good relationship.”

How about Virginia? I’ve heard Isaac McKneely has been non-stop in his pursuit of you.

“I’m really excited to finally meet Coach Bennett and staff in person along with Isaac McKneely. We’ve developed a good relationship and I’ve heard great things about UVA’s campus and facilities. I’ve developed great relationships with both Coach Bennett and Getter as well.”

Michigan State, you will also be on campus this month, thoughts on them?

“I’m excited to meet Coach Izzo and staff and see what East Lansing has to offer. Jaden Schutt will also be on campus when I’m there and I’m excited to meet him. MSU has been recruiting me for a while now and the next step is to meet the staff in person.”

North Carolina will also get an official visit from you, thoughts on the new staff?

“I'm really looking forward to getting out there and meeting Coach Davis and staff. I’ve never been to North Carolina or the east coast really. I’ve heard great things and can’t wait to get out there.”

Next Steps?

“I’m also trying to figure out an official visit with Oklahoma for September. I am also looking to visit some others as well in the fall. I would like to make my college decision sometime during my senior season.”
