I’ve mentioned the extreme talent level that’s blossoming in the state of New Jersey. You’ve already got several powerhouse programs, high-level players, etc. Gill St. Bernard’s has one of the hidden gem prospects in the entire state, his name is Denver Anglin. The 6-foot-2 combo has asserted himself as one of the best two-way guards on the east coast.

Anglin gives you a very nice combination of skill and being vocal. He’s always one of the loudest players on the floor but also brings you elite skills on both ends of the floor. Speed, great playmaker, can score on all levels, and is also a very capable defender. I’d expect him to add more muscle before his departure to college, but, he has thrived and is deserving of much more attention.

This summer, he will play his AAU basketball with the NY Renaissance. I expect him to create tons of buzz playing with them this Spring and summer, and only time will tell. Anglin has extremely high hopes for this Rens team, saying that they all believe they could go on a run and win Peach Jam this summer.

As for his recruitment, he holds 10+ scholarship offers including TCU, Stanford, Georgetown, Ole Miss, George Washington, New Mexico, etc. I believe that list will grow and Anglin discussed his recruitment and which programs are expected to enter the mix with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are heavily involved in your recruitment?

“All the schools that are contacting me right now are all heavily involved, there’s not one that stands higher than the other.”

Any new schools that have entered the picture?

“New schools that have contacted either me or my AAU coach about me have been Penn State, Providence, Miami, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, UConn, Virginia Tech, and NC State.”

You have plans to officially visit Georgetown and Stanford, what is their message to you?

“Georgetown and Stanford said very similar things in terms of how invested they are in me and how I can make their team a lot better. When I visit both schools, I will be looking at the campus and how I would fit into their community and just feeling out the coaching staff and if the players are there also, see how they are as well.”

Any ideas on a commitment timeline?

“I think I’ll be making my decision in early fall so that I can maximize my opportunities this summer.”

Thoughts on how the high school season went for you?

“I think our season was great even though I only got to play in half of the games this year. We went 7-4 on the year and we fought hard in every game we played.”

Summer goals?

“My summer goal is to win Peach Jam, that is the only thing my mind is set on and I think my team is set to win it all this year.”
