IMG Academy has one of the more ‘college ready’ prospects in the 2022 class, Eric Dailey Jr.

The 6-foot-7, 220-pound wing is being prioritized by many programs and for the past few months has said that he’s just focused on his game and wants to work on getting better. He has seen himself playing a nice role with IMG this season, contributing on both ends of the floor.

As for his recruitment, many teams have been in hot pursuit, in addition to the overseas opportunities that have been presented to him.

Dailey Jr. is no stranger to the overseas game, rather than playing in AAU, Dailey Jr. would play tournaments in Spain and Madrid during his summers, so he is familiar with their playstyle and it could be an option if he and his family opt to go that route.

But which college programs are vying to keep him in the states? Florida State and Michigan are among those in extreme pursuit of the talented wing. So, where do things stand with the two programs that have arguably been in the most contact with Eric Dailey Jr.?

“Coach Howard is doing great things and changing the narrative of the program and he’s been in the NBA and knows what it takes to get there,” Dailey Jr. said on Michigan.

How about Florida State?

“Coach [Leonard] Hamilton is a legendary coach and has been producing elite talent for a very long time.”

Dailey Jr. is fresh off of a very nice season for the Ascenders and he doesn’t have any current plans on a commitment timeline or if he will even narrow down his list. He’s focused on his senior season and has his sights set on a very nice goal: “I want to be an All-American.”
