Memphis native Alden Applewhite had a spectacular year with Houston High School after transferring there last fall. This upcoming season he is taking his talents to Arizona Compass Prep.

The 6-foot-6 wing watched his recruitment take new heights after this year and it included several new offers both then and now during COVID-19. But, the four-star wing out of Arizona Compass Prep has established himself as a scorer for his new team and has contributed in multiple ways.

Now, he’s down to five programs and broke them down with Stockrisers.com.

St. John’s: “Coach Cleveland and Coach Anderson have been recruiting my family and me hard and they love my ability to guard and make shots and they talk about playing in a good conference playing in special arenas and developing my game.”

Clemson: “Coach Goins is recruiting me and he was just telling me how I’d fit in with their culture and he feels like they can develop me in the ACC.”

Miss. State: “Coach McCray has been recruiting my family and me really hard. The relationship I’ve built with Coach Howland has been great as well, we facetime and call all the time and he just talks to me about how I can help them with my ability to stretch the floor and guard multiple positions.”

Wake Forest: “Coach McKie, Coach Forbes, and Carter Whitt have been recruiting me hard and love my versatility and telling me how I can do so many things for their program.”

Iowa State: “Coach Small and Coach Prohm have been recruiting me hard. Coach Small has been recruiting me since my 10th-grade year and he has built a good relationship with my family and I. They talk about their winning program and how they develop their players.”
