New Jersey has continued to produce very talented guard prospects over the past few years. In 2022, they’re loaded at the guard spot but Roselle Catholic is responsible for both Top-100 juniors Simeon Wilcher and Corey Floyd Jr.

Floyd Jr. has proven to be one of the most talented 2022 prospects on the East Coast and is set to play a major role for Roselle Catholic this year. He’s also been playing with Team Final of the EYBL Circuit this summer and despite things being different due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Floyd Jr. has taken advantage of any opportunity he’s landed this summer.

He’s starred at several camps this summer and has been able to remain consistent in his development this summer. Floyd Jr. was most recently invited to Wootten’s McDonald’s All-American Combine where he along with prospects from 2021, 2022, and 2023, showcased their talents in hopes of being considered as one of the top prospects in their respective classes.

Now, Floyd Jr. is down to seven schools, he told Stockrisers.com. The list includes UConn, Providence, Rutgers, Miami, Auburn, and Wake Forest, He broke down all seven.

UConn: “They’re recruiting me the hardest right now. They want me to come in and be an instant impact on both the offensive end and defensive end. The coaching staff is great.”

Providence: “Coach Cooley checks in with me and my family almost every day and lets me know that I am a priority for them. Also recruiting me to be a scorer.”

Rutgers: “Hometown school that has shown love since day one. Recruiting me as a wing and point and to score.”

Florida: “Telling me that I can work my way into the starting lineup coming in as a freshman and be an impact right away. Filling in some of the spots for players that will be gone by then.”

Miami: “Coach Larranaga reaches out to me and my father almost every day. Have been in contact with my AAU coaches a lot and have shown love throughout this whole process.”

Auburn: “Auburn has been another school that has shown nothing but love. Coach Bowman has been a huge support in this process. We have a great connection.”

Wake Forest: “Coach Forbes and Coach Savage have been in contact a lot with me. They tell me they get after it in practice which is what I’m looking for. Coach Forbes keeps it 100% at all times.”
