Tapping into Minnesota over the past few years and the talent level just continues to blow me away. The state is producing players at all levels, several headed to the NBA in this upcoming draft. It continues in the 2022 class with the state having a handful of Top-150 prospects.

Demarion Watson-Saulsberry is one of them.

The 6-foot-6 wing out of Minneapolis, holds offers from Nebraska, Florida, Minnesota, Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, and plenty of others. He’s playing at Totino-Grace this upcoming season and is fully prepared and ready for the season.

He talked about his recruitment and more with Stockrisers.com.

Which schools are involved?

Demarion: “Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Mizzou, Xavier, Creighton, Marquette, Florida, West Virginia, Maryland, Nebraska, Butler, UCF, and Cal Berkeley so far.”

Which is the newest school in the mix?

Demarion: “Marquette was the only new school that has recently spoken with me.”

You landed two new Big East offers, discuss those.

Demarion: “My most recent offers are from Creighton and Xavier. Creighton and Xavier are both in the Big East and have fast-paced playing styles. I had a really good and informative conversation with both of the coaches. I feel like I could play in either one of their systems.”

Any new zoom calls?

Demarion: “Ohio State and Northwestern.”

Thoughts on virtual visits?

Demarion: “With virtual visits, you get to see the whole coaching staff, and I really enjoy seeing their faces. Since that’s all we can do, we are trying to make the best of it.”

In short, how’s your off-season?

Demarion: “During the off-season, I put in a lot of work. I worked out 2-3 times a day.”

Describe your game.

Demarion: “I consider myself a guard and a small forward. I’m a two-way player and play on both sides of the floor. I love to get in transition and move at a fast pace, but I’m not afraid to play in a half-court setting. With my length, I can shoot over smaller defenders and my speed helps me blow by bigger defenders. I think I’m an all-around player.”
