Breaking: Kentucky lands Top-40 senior Bryce Hopkins
Almost one year removed from his prior pledge to the University of Louisville, Fenwick’s Bryc Hopkins who’s rated amongst the Top-40 prospects in 2021, is taking his talents to the University of Kentucky, he told Stockrisers.com. Out of Oak Park (Ill.), the 6-foot-7 forward was exceptional for Fenwick over the past few seasons.
Last season, I mentioned Hopkins being a five-star caliber player. I believe he’s surpassed such expectation after putting on an absolute show last year averaging 24.5 points, 10 rebounds, and nearly 3.4 assists per game for Fenwick.
Now, he’s just one year away from competing in the SEC on a national stage.
But why did Hopkins choose the Wildcats?
“I’m choosing the University of Kentucky. I chose them because I will be challenged and pushed day in and day out. Also the history they have as a program and how they develop their guys and get them to the next level [also impressed me].”
When did you realize ‘Oh I want to commit to Kentucky’
”I knew about a week before my commitment date.”
What sealed the deal and ultimately made you choose them?
“Kentucky was one of my dream schools growing up. I also want to be apart of a winning program.”
Tell Kentucky fans the kind of player they’re getting in Bryce Hopkins.
”They are getting a very versatile wing that can score in many different ways. Can’t wait to hit the floor and play in front of Big Blue Nation.”
