The state of Texas is absolutely loaded in its 2022 class.

Noah Shelby, a 6-foot-3 guard who attends Greenhill School in Texas, also leads himself impressive recruitment. Many people in the industry believe that he could become one of the top shooters in the class, he’s shown that consistently and it continued this summer.

Shelby has had quite the recruitment and has also worked out with some pretty significant people, he broke all of that down with Stockrisers.com

Which programs would you say are heavily in the mix?

Shelby: “I would say schools like Minnesota, Kansas, Memphis, Arizona, California, Baylor, Mississippi State, Purdue, Stanford, Ohio State, Duke, and Auburn are heavily in the mix.”

And what is Kansas pitching to you?

Shelby: “Their pitch to me has been how they love my shooting ability. I talk to coach Norm Roberts every day, and he has been saying how I can come in and make an immediate impact. He likes how I can create my own shot, but also can be a huge threat coming off of screens.”

What about a program like Memphis, who offered this summer?

Shelby: “I have a great relationship with Penny Hardaway and Cody Toppert. They send me a film of NBA guys each and every day. They tell me how I am an elite shooter who can create my shot, and they need someone like that in their program. They think that I can come in and have an immediate impact.”

Arizona has also been involved, what are they pitching?

Shelby: “I have kept in constant contact with Sean Miller and Jason Terry. They have been telling me how my ability to shoot can open up the offense for everyone else. They also have said that I can come in and make an immediate impact in the Pick and roll.”

Duke has also shown interest, what have they said?

Shelby: “They have been telling me how my shooting ability is rare, and how I can be a huge asset for them.”

What about any newer programs in the mix?

Shelby: “Ohio State, Virginia, and Villanova are all new schools that have to contact me recently.”

How has your off-season gone?

Shelby: “I have been working out every day trying to become the best I can be. I have been working on Pick and roll reads as well as my athleticism. I have been able to work out with Kyrie Irving and Trae Young, so being able to learn from All-Star caliber point guards has been huge also.”

Wow, Trae Young and Kyrie Irving, what advice did they give you?

Shelby: “They both have been telling me to keep pushing and improve on my game. They think I have a great skill set. I’m great friends with Trae Young, and he tells me to always go hard, and never be satisfied.”
