2023's Spencer Joyner leads an impressive early recruitment
Spencer Joyner made the move to Arts High School in New Jersey this offseason.
His coach praised him, saying he’s a high-caliber player and will be an immediate impact on a high-major college roster one day. The 6-foot-5 combo leads himself an impressive skillset, can score on three levels, prides himself defensively, and oh, he loves to get his teammates involved.
The high-IQ prospect also leads himself impressive recruitment for an incoming sophomore, earning himself eight offers, many of which came this year.
“I hold offers from LSU, Texas A&M, Seton Hall, Howard, Arkansas Little-Rock, Rider, Fairfield, Merrimack, and Coppin State.”
In addition, he has interest from Auburn, Creighton, Iona, Marquette, Maryland, Wake Forest, St. John’s, and Rutgers. The 2023 class will be able to hear from college coaches next summer but until then the only way they may contact a coach is if they extend the call.
Joyner says that he has had a dialogue with Texas A&M, Seton Hall, and Creighton.
“Texas A&M and Seton Hall talked to me about there schools, how I can fit at the program, and how they run things. Overall, both were very good conversations.” Joyner noted that he was able to speak with Texas A&M’s staff recently, since he may contact them.
Finally, I asked Joyner for a personal scouting report on himself:
“I have an all-around game. I can attack the basket and finish, shoot the J, be a playmaker, and get my teammates involved and do whatever I need to do to contribute to my team winning games.”
