Last season, Jalen Washington watched his season end before it even started as he suffered a season-ending knee injury. Prior to that, he injured his shoulder that caused him to miss time during his freshman year. Schools see the upside though, his trainer Sean Smith has been working with Washington and is very excited about the progress he’s been making this off-season.

“I am impressed by how mentally strong he has been through this process,” Smith told Stockrisers.com.

When talking to Washington he’s in great spirits and is just looking forward to returning to the court.

He’s still leading quite the busy recruitment, with nearly 15+ high-major programs in the mix for the five-star junior out of Indiana. “There’s a lot of programs to list and I don’t want to leave any out but I’ve remained in contact with a lot of schools,” Washington said.

Among his offers: Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Stanford, Louisville, Alabama, Maryland, Nebraska, DePaul, Iowa, and a slew of others.

The most recent offer came during a zoom call with Stanford’s Jerod Haase, here’s what Washington had to say about the offer and what they showed him during the virtual visit:

“The Stanford call I was just getting introduced to a couple of coaches and they showed me some things about their rich program history and how much progress they’ve made with the basketball program.”

He also virtually met with Purdue’s Matt Painter recently, a program that hosted him for an unofficial visit this past season. Here’s what Washington said about his recent call with Purdue:

“The Purdue call, they were really just informing me more on their business program because that’s the college major I’m interested in.”

Washington also said that he heard from Duke this past summer but they haven’t contacted him since August. Something to keep an eye on with Washington eying a return to the court.
