International prospects have been a crucial part of the game of basketball in this era. We’ve now got guys from all over the world that have opted to come to the United States and play on a bigger platform and attempt to make it to the NBA.

Prolific Prep hired former Arizona assistant Mark Phelps to become the program’s head coach this off-season. He instantly brought in talent and that includes Serbian born prospect and 2022 recruit Stefan Todorovic.

The 6-foot-7 wing already brings elite size at the wing spot and still has room to grow. Todorovic brings experience to the Prolific Prep roster that will be super beneficial to the other pieces brought in by Phelps and his staff.

Todorovic attended the 6th annual ‘Basketball Without Borders’ camp this past year. That event covers some of the most coveted international prospects in the country as they make their attempt to showcase talent for college coaches.

He brings special experience to the Prolific Prep roster as Todorovic just finished his tenure in the ABA League where he played for KK Partizan, one of the more talented teams in Serbia.

“The ABA League is one of the best leagues in the area I come from. That tournament was full of challenges and a great opportunity to see what level we are in relation to the best players in the world,” he said.

In 16 games played this past season, he averaged 17.9 points in 32 minutes per game. In addition, he added four rebounds, four assists, and nearly two steals per contest.

With that resume, you’d expect him making a move to the states was a move that attracted college coaches:

“Since I came to Prolific many schools have made contact with me. Some of them are Illinois, Stanford, Arizona, Gonzaga, Memphis, Santa Barbara. I have time, so when the right time comes I’ll get together with my family and I will make a decision.”

He says that he has already spoken with Illinois’ Brad Underwood and UCSB’s Joe Pasternack. Also added that he hears from assistant coaches almost every other day. While in Serbia, where he’s rated No. 2 nationally, he said he heard from a coach at Gonzaga.

As I mentioned, new coaching staff and a new roster for Prolific Prep this season, and that gives them major expectations. You added five-stars like Isa Silva, Kamari Lands, Nate Bittle, Arterio Morris, and several other high-level guys.

That intrigued Todorovic.

“When it comes to the Prolific Prep roster for this season, I think we have a serious team that does not have ‘the best player’ or just one star. All the players are the best players and I think we are full of potential in all positions. We have a great coach who wants to get the best out of each of us. Also, the chemistry on this team is fantastic, which is the most important thing in my opinion.”
