On Wednesday, Wofford star Chevez Goodwin announced his transfer.
The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 11.4 points and seven rebounds per game. In addition, Goodwin averaged 1.0 blocks per game and had 38 of them on the season as well as 13 steals. Overall, college programs instantly reached out and showed interest in the forward. Goodwin’s upside is through the roof, it made people think he could even test the NBA draft waters, but he has something different on his mind rather then settling for maybe the second-round or even undrafted.
“I want to go back to school for my fifth year and get better and show the world what all I can do,” Goodwin told Stockrisers.com on opting to attend college for one more year rather than exploring the professional option. With that plenty of suitors have already reached out and some even offered him.
Early yesterday, Goodwin told Stockrisers.com that he heard from the following schools: USC, Xavier, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Wichita State, Cincinnati, Georgia, VCU, Wake Forest, Oregon State and Houston.
Out of the suitors, he’s spoken to head coaches from: Xavier [Steele], Houston [Sampson], Arkansas [Musselman], USC [Enfield] and Virginia Tech [Young]. All of whom extended a scholarship to Goodwin as i’m sure others will follow suit.
As far as what’s next, he will hear from plenty of more schools and says that he intends to make his college choice by May.
