Justin Turner, two-time first-team All-Mid-American Conference guard, has entered the transfer portal, he told Stockrisers.com. The redshirt junior gets to transfer and will not face the one-year penalty which would force him to sit out a year. Turner, ranked seventh all-time in Bowling Green school history in the scoring category.
On Saturday, he found no shortage of suitors after announcing his transfer. He told Stockrisers.com that he heard from UConn, Arkansas, Xavier, Gonzaga, Louisville, Mizzou, Alabama, Marquette, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, and Texas. That list expected to grow over the next few days.
After last season, Turner opted to test the NBA Draft waters but then returned to school for one more year. I asked him if it’s still possible for him to go to the NBA instead of transferring to a new school, he said: “With the NBA I’m really just waiting to see what they do [with the outbreak going on] so at this point I wanna focus on weighing all my options of what college I will go to.”
Turner, best describes his game as ‘a scorer who can create for others and keep people involved, play hard on both ends’ says that as far as finding a fit with these college programs, he will collect as much information when talking to the coaches and see where he’s most comfortable with his game.
