Patrick Tape is a 6-foot-10, 232-pound forward from Charlotte who played three seasons for Columbia before sitting out this past season. The dynamic two-way forward averaged 11 points and five rebounds per games for the Lions before announcing that he will enter his name into the transfer portal. He’s found himself with no shortage of suitors and has no plan on cutting anything down just yet.
Tape told Stockrisers.com on Friday that he’s heard from Duke, Syracuse, Ohio State, USC, Virginia, Arizona, Arizona State, Georgetown, Maryland, Minnesota, Boise State, amongst others.
In Late-January into early February, Tape got things underway with his recruitment and found himself visiting Syracuse for their matchup against Duke, then he also visited Maryland and USC. Along with them, he has also considered Virginia Tech and Ohio State.
The Blue Devils are the latest program to enter the picture for Tape who not only qualifies for them on the court but has the grades to compete at Duke off the floor. Coach K and his staff find themselves in the mix with now two grad transfers in Tape and Seth Towns. Towns, the Harvard transfer, is choosing between the Blue Devils and Ohio State but Duke, like with Tape, just recently got involved late after Towns announced he’d announce his college decision earlier in the week.
Tape says he’s unsure when he will cut things down but with the Blue Devils in the mix, we might see a major twist in this recruitment.
