Tallahassee Community College is one of the most dominant shooting squads in the JUCO ranks this season. Making a major run at the Hutch which comes up in the next few weeks, they’re led by sharpshooters El Ellis and Tariq Silver, both of whom hold high-major recruitments and will play at the D1 level.
That isn’t new for Silver who attended Eastern Michigan and was on the roster for two seasons [redshirted in 2018] but looked to find improvement and keep his eligibility at TCC.
He’s doing just that, averaging 12.1 points and shooting 50% from the field and around 44% from the perimeter.
“I’m a really good shot-maker. I score at all three levels but catch and shoot and dribble pull-ups are my best,” Silver told Stockrisers.com. He’s ultra-focused on the rest of this season and how it will pan out before moving back to the D1 ranks.
Silver says as far as his recruitment goes, it will be figured out a week after the season ends when he will plan visits and likely cut down on some schools. Temple, Siena, Bryant, and several other schools offered. Now, high-major schools are starting to notice the high-level scoring guard.
“I have interest from Oregon State, SIU, Texas A&M, Texas, and VCU.” I fully expect that interest to expand and some of those programs to extend him a scholarship offer as well as he continues to help lead TCC to a winning season and potentially garnering some hardware come this Spring.
