PSA Showcase: Four-star junior Jalen Warley discusses performance and recruitment

It was an outstanding atmosphere at Mount St. Michaels in the Bronx, NY, on Sunday. The matchups began early morning and went until the evening. At noon, Brewster Academy was facing off with Westtown.

Kentucky’s John Calipari was in watching his signee Terrence Clarke and then 10+ high-majors were in attendance for this matchup. The game ended in overtime and Westtown left victorious. Frank Kepnang ranked in the Top-20 for 2021 was named game MVP after having 18 points and 13 rebounds.

My player of the game? Jalen Warley. He scored a game-high 24 points and had a really big offensive rebound during overtime which ultimately led to a score that put Westtown ahead.

He sat down with me after the victory to discuss his performance and one school that offered him after the game.

Jake: “Describe your performance against Brewster”

Jalen: “I think I had a strong performance against Brewster. Definitely a big win that’s gonna give us moment as we dive into our national schedule.”

Jake: “Several schools were in attendance to watch you, did your recruitment pick up after this performance.”

Jalen: “It didn’t pick up that much yet. Seton Hall extended an offer to me.”

Jake: “Many considered this a breakout game for you? what did you think about it?”

Jalen: “I think some people would consider it that. I know what I’m capable of and on Sunday my intentions were to win.”

In addition, Warley kept mentioning the upcoming schedule for Westtown that includes the possibility of facing Prolific Prep and Hillcrest Prep. Warley should see his recruitment pick up after this weekend, Miami another school who recently got involved with him, had an assistant watching him at the Showcase.
